Object 003 - N.001: Swimming with Nessie

My son suggested the first thing I do to the Mess Dress is to take it for a dunk at our favourite spot, Dores Beach on the shores of Loch Ness. We go swimming here quite often and we were in the water for the recent solar eclipse.

It's also often packed with tourists who stare in shock as we go swimming in there, which is entertaining in itself.

Here she is all freshly made and pressed. Ready for a second life in the Highlands. I do wonder what her old life was like, but I think, given it's a bed sheet, I'd rather not know the details!

And her grand christening in the peat stained water!

(Boobs 😏)

I just realised, that this is where I, regrettably, got baptised in my younger days. How ironic. Now I'm posting wet-dress pics of myself on the internet.

Afterwards, in trying to let go of my caution, I wiped my eyes on it, leaving mascara marks on the fabric.

My kids then smashed a few brambles from the bushes into it. I audibly gasped as I saw how bold the first stain was (the one on my stomach). I don't know why, I knew it was coming, but god, it hurt to watch 😰

Now it's drying on the line, with some extra mud stains from chucking it in the back of the car.

Hopefully it's dry in time to hang out with some friends tonight and mess it up more!
